We use Bible Study for Life curriculum. It is an engaging solid biblical teaching where kids learn the truth of God's Word. It is all wraped in a fun energetic experience that kids love! Sunday school is for all ages at Sequoia. It starts every Sunday morning at 8:45 AM.
Children"s Church is a great place to send your children ages 4-8 years old during the sermon time on Sunday morning. Trained workers are in Childrens Church every sunday leading the children in Bible stories and their meaning. The curriculum is the from LifeWay and is called "The Gospel Project." Check it out.
The Gospel Project takes kids on a Christ-centered, chronological journey through Scripture. Kids will discover how the gospel unfolds from Genesis through Revelation. When kids truly experience the gospel, their hearts are transformed. It is the gospel, not good behavior, that changes everything.
Sequoia has many programs that serve children and youth. Ministry programs such as Sunday School, Children's church, TeamKids and others help to develop each child’s intellectual, social, spiritual or physical capacity. As they serve, ministry leaders cannot forget their responsibility to safeguard each child, as well as those who serve them. Church members need to be guaranteed that Sequoia's preschool, children’s ministry and their youth programs are safe. Because of the trust that Sequoia has put in every single children's worker, it is MANDATORY for each potential worker to fill out a Volunteer Interest Application, to be trained in a Child Protective Training program, have a background check, and be fingerprinted. This is not optional and is required for every worker no matter how often or where they serve. The first step is to click here and fill out the Volunteer Interest Application, print it and turn it in to the office at Sequoia Heights Baptist Church. The next step is to watch the videos and completion form. These videos are password protected and available here. The password will be given by the church office to aproved candidates. Each candidate must watch all 10 videos, then fill out the form on line and submit it to the office by clicking the submit button at the bottom.
Third to sixth graders will experience the time of their lives and more importantly, they will learn about Jesus! Summer camp is fun and life-changing.
In the Wild is the 2019 theme for Vacation Bible School in June of 2019. All kids who have completed the 1st to 6th grade can sign up. The cost is FREE.
Every Sunday at 11:00AM from September through May the 4th to 6th graders learn to hide God's Word in their hearts as they memorize scripture.
Sequoia has 2 kids choirs. They both meet on Tuesdays from 4 to 5 PM with two major performances each year. Get involved.
