 Dear Sequoia Family,
Thank you for your continued prayers for Pastor Mark. God is continuing to show His faithfulness and goodness throughout this process. Pastor Mark will have his fourth surgery in the past nine days on Thursday. The infection in his femur is being removed and the pain is only from the surgeries now and is very manageable. If the surgery on Thursday goes as expected, the plan is to come home soon after that. He will be taking antibiotics for 6-8 weeks at home while possibly making a few trips to the doctor's office during that time for normal check-ups. Depending on how the bone heals the doctors will most likely be putting a rod in the femur at that time which will give the leg the strength that it needs. All of this is a wait and see at this point and as we know it would be easy for the LORD to heal the bone completely if that is the way He wants to do it.
It will be quite a while before they will be able to have visitors, even when he is home, so please wait until it is announced that they are ready for visitors before you set up a time to go over. Not being able to see you all has been/is a strain on him, if he had his way we would be having our worship services at Kaiser and slumber parties in the hospital room! But with the repeated surgery that he has had and the weakened body that he has right now we want to be very careful that his immune system gets back to where it needs to be and that the leg heals without infection.
Please to continue to pray for the following:

  • Rest for both he and my mom
  • All the infection in the bone to be removed and not return
  • The wound area to heal quickly and correctly
  • Bone growth and muscle strength
  • That they would continue to grow in Christ and be used by Christ during this time

 Thank you,

Pastor Dan
