Sequoia Preschool Ministry

Preschool facilities will receive children 15 minutes prior to church activities and services.  Adults may take their children to the preschool while they attend church functions. Sequoia provides a safe and loving environment for preschoolers. Even the smallest children are making spiritual decisions based on the care they receive in a church nursery or classroom.  Sequoia is a place where children and their parents can come to worship the Lord together.

The Preschool TEAM

At Sequoia we really love the kids, so we have created at team to work with them. Actually we have some opportunities for service on this team RIGHT NOW!Team

Some responsiblities of the team leaders are:

Sunday Morning

  • How to Sign In

When you enter the Reception Suite on your first visit, you will need to complete an emergency card for each child. We want to get to know you and your child, therefore photos will be taken of you and your child to create your child’s ID cards.  At each visit, you will need to sign your child in and out.  This will help us know at a glance where you can be located in an emergency.

  • Dropping off and Retrieval

For safety reasons, all parents should enter and exit through the Reception Suite.  Only those with a badge will be allowed in the preschool area.  When you enter the reception suite, give the receptionist your child’s name.  You then sign to pick up your child.  We will identify proper custodial parent or guardian by their photo.  Any authorized person listed on your child’s ID may be asked to show ID.  The greeter will collect your child’s belongings and bring your child to you. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • Parents in the Classroom

Occasionally, when you desire to spend time in your child’s class, let the Preschool Director know you will be attending.  Child safety guidelines allow parents to actively participate with their child only.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not part from it.” Proverbs 22:6

  • Child Protection Commitment

It is our desire and goal that all children who enter the 1st grade have a solid understanding of God and His Son.  We believe that ministry to preschoolers does not stop at teaching only; but it involves loving them, changing diapers, wiping noses, and playing together.  It is also our goal that parents trust our staff with their children – therefore our volunteers are required to have a love for Jesus and a heart for children.  Each volunteer has successfully passed our Child Protection Training class and criminal background check.

  • Quiet Room

Whether you’re a nursing mom who desires a little privacy or a parent/guardian of a child (age 0-13 months) who needs a little time during this transitional process, the Quiet Room is a wonderful place for you and your baby to relax and feel comfortable while listening to the service.  The mom’s room is equipped with live audio feed from the worship service.

  • Health Policy
