The Body of Christ

Worship each week is lead by one of four worship teams

Sunday morning is Ground Zero for Worship

Worship is not the song that the choir sings. Worship is not coming to the church building on Sunday morning. It is not volunteering in children's church. Yes, these may be acts or expressions of worship, but they do not define what true worship really is. True worship is defined by the priority we place on who God is in our lives and where God is on our list of priorities. True worship is a matter of the heart expressed through a lifestyle of holiness. We worship God because He is God. Period. We worship Him in all our life, not just on Sunday morning. However Sunday morning worship is when we gather for our weekly Worship Celebration.

Sunday Morning Worship

Sequoia gathers every Sunday for worship at 10:00 AM, right after Bible Study for all ages. Pastor Mahaffie brings messages that are relevant to our world today. Both Pastor Mark Mahaffie and Pastor Dan Mahaffie bring Bible based sermons dealing with issues we face in our daily lives, using illustrations and personal stories that make the sermons memorable.

Worship Music

Come prepared to worship the One True and living God of the Universe with a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary choruses. Worship services are led by one of four rotating worship teams who lead in music, prayer, and Bible reading.

Special music each Sunday is for the purpose to magnify and edify the Lord Jesus Christ. This is usually a solo, a duo, or the entire Adult Choir worshipping the Lord.

Response to Worship

Worship is having an extravagant or exaggerated love for God.We at Sequoia invite you to make worship a non-negotiable priority in your life. Come join Sequoia in our expressions of worship so that through singing, declaring, and giving, you will "give to the LORD the glory he deserves." (Psalms 96:8). The promise is that when we worship God in this way, He will come and commune with us. God will respond to your worship by making your heart more like his.
